Where we are
based
The Metropolitan Community Church of Manchester is based in
the Anglican Parish Church of Saint John Chrysostom, Victoria Park,
Manchester.
Our main worship service is held at 4.00pm each
Sunday.
Saint Chrysostom's is situated at the junction of Anson Road
(A34) with Oxford Place and Daisy Bank Road, alongside Conyngham
Road, approximately 2 miles south of the city centre. (If you're
looking at a city map, Anson Road starts off in the city centre as
Princess Street, then becomes Upper Brook Street, and finally
becomes Anson Road near the church.)
Parking
There is ample on-road parking along Conyngham Road and
further along Oxford Place beyond the yellow lines near the
junction.
By
bus from the city centre
Bus services along Upper Brook Street/Anson Road (number
50) from the city centre (Cross Street via Princess Street)
leave every 10 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays, or every 20
minutes on Sundays. The journey takes around 10 minutes. Book a
ticket to Daisy Bank Road.
If you arrive in Manchester by train at Piccadilly station,
the shortest route to a suitable bus stop would be to walk down
Whitworth Street to Princess Street (approx 300 yards) and pick up
the number 50 bus at the stop on Princess Street/Hart
Street.
An alternative option from the city centre is to take any of
the buses travelling along Oxford Road towards
Rusholme/Withington/Didsbury and get off near the junction of Oxford
Place with Oxford Road, just as you enter Rusholme Village. It is
then a 5-minute walk down Oxford Place to Saint
Chrysostom's.
Full details of buses and timetables is available at http://www.gmpte.com
On
arrival
For all worship services in the church, the main west door
is usually open for access. The door we normally use for access at
other times is on Anson Road (nearest the bell tower, to the left of
the building). This door is equipped with a bell and a small ramp,
and offers the most direct access to meeting rooms, the Pastor's
office, and on-the-flat access to the main church for disabled
visitors.

Saint Chrysostom's parish has its own website at http://www.come.to/chrysostoms/ which is very
informative about the church's history and ministry. |
