Policy on working with the media

The Metropolitan Community Church of Manchester is seeking to uncover and develop the range of musical gifts and talents which we know are in and around our church and communities. Our people sing with enthusiasm, music is an important element in our worship, and we cover a wide variety:-

  • On Pentecost Sunday we will probably sing 'Come Holy Ghost' to its ancient plainsong tune;
  • At other services the words of Wesley, the stirring tunes of the Welsh Revival, and the music of Matt Redman or Vineyard composers will be very much to the fore;
  • And we attempt most styles in between!

Choir

We have a committed and enthusiastic choir which helps to lead the congregation in the singing of hymns and songs, and contributes solo pieces to our worship services.

We are always happy to invite new singers to 'sit in' on our practices - before worship on Sundays (3.30pm). Just come along!

Also, we would gladly welcome instrumentalists to work alongside our keyboard player and help to offer a variety of musical accompaniments to worship.

Music

We realise that as well as leading our church people to music, it can often be music which leads people to church. If you are in sympathy with the mission of our church and are looking for somewhere to use your musical gifts in a worship setting - whether as a singer in the choir or as an instrumentalist - we can promise you a warm welcome.
