Welcome
to this newsletter and to the ministry of MCC
Manchester. If this is your first contact
with us, know that you are welcome. You can
take part in our ministry through attending our
worship services or mid week meetings, or by using
the various resources on our website. You
can keep in touch with us in person, by email, or
by text. It is our prayer that our people
grow as committed disciples of the Lord
Jesus.
Today's Service looked at the community
of people who gathered around the Risen Lord and
formed the first Church. They
had many weaknesses yet the represented the
Kingdom of God to the world around
them. They had many qualities
including hospitality, mutuality, love and, most
important of all a desire for authentic
worship. We too offer an
imperfect representation of God's kingdom and we
too show these same four qualities to our
world.
Thanks.
Thank you for
your generosity last week. 36
people attended and the collection was
£134.50. This is on top of the
£1200 or so a month that is given directly to our
bank account via standing order.
We saw over 81 people in March.
Social
Our next social event is on Saturday
10th May and
is going to be fun! We've
booked a lovely room at the Police College where
we are going to show the old film "The 10
Commandments"Â and have a buffet meal together as
well. The film is about four
hours long so we will break at half time for the
food. The college really are
excellent at catering and we hope you enjoy this
afternoon and evening - and bring your
friends along too! The cost is
£10 but we don't want to exclude anyone on the
grounds of cost and have a few half price places
too. Please sign up with Elen
if you wish to come - we'll collect money on
the day.
Lenten Smartie Tubes
Thank you for your generosity so
far. We have collected just
over £500 for the Unit's Legal Welfare Fund which
helps clients who have good cases but can't get
legal aid funding. I know there
are more tubes to come back so please bring them
along! If you've lost your
tube, why not just make a donation, get an envelop
from Andy or Ian and put your donation in this
marking it as 'Smarties'Â. We
hope to hand the money over in mid-May and add to
it the Gift Aid which we can reclaim on this
money.
Introduction to Sexuality
Studies. This
MCC sponsored course will be taught in Manchester

be held at the police college in Sedgley Park and
will cost £100 for day students and £235 for
residential students. More
details are on our website - go to the yellow bar
on the right and then go to the sexuality
