I
was so deep in sleep
Until I heard you whispering,
Calling out my name:
I’ll never be the same
Because of your Great Love
Reigning from above.
You
comfort and quicken me
After all I’ve put you through.
Holy Spirit, oh Trinity,
I will worship none but you.
I
had wandered far, was lost
With a heart as cold as frost,
But Lord, I called your Name
And, lovingly, you came.
You broke my stone heart
And gave me a new start.
So
purely you love me
In perfect ways I never knew.
Abba, Maker yet Deity:
I’m still learning to love you.
I
had cloaked myself in sin.
Still, when I knocked, you let me in;
Soul darker than the night
Until you set things right.
You took away my shame
Even though I was to blame.
Once
more you have found me
With my feet in miry clay,
Gentle Shepherd, Redeemer,
Your staff and rod will lead the way.
So
many times I’ve let you down
But still you’re saving me a crown!
You’ve proved yourself a friend
Yes, time and time again.
You
fill me with new love every day
Washing all my sins away.
You died on the Cross for me
And rose again – I know it’s true:
Blessed Saviour, Christ Jesus,
I’d be nothing without you!
You
said come boldly
And cast my burdens all on you:
Then you gave me perfect peace.
(God will do the same for you!)
